COVID Event Rules for the Heritage Farm Show

 

We hope you can attend our Heritage Farm Show on September 5 or 6, 2020.  
* Please bring your mask with you to wear inside buildings. 
* Buildings have a maximum 10 visitors inside.  
* 100 visitors maximum are allowed on site at any one time, so please consider only staying for 2-3 hours to allow others entry.  
* One free hand sanitizer will be given out at the gate to each family unit.

Your Picture in History with the Elgin County
Archives in the Museum Parlour
11:30am Skills Competitions: nail driving, bale toss, cross cut sawing, post toss
12—4pm The Back Pages Band
1:30pm Skills Competitions:
2pm Threshing
3:45pm Candy Scramble for Kids
4pm Closed to the Public
Saturday Only 5pm Exhibitor & Volunteer Dinner $5

All day activities: Carnival Games, Poultry Show, Barn Tours (2nd floor), Museum Tours, Horse Drawn Wagon Rides, Hands on History, Kids Zone, Blacksmithing, Guess the Weight contest, and Food.

Heritage Farm Show September 9 & 10, 2017

HERITAGE FARM SHOW SCHEDULE
SEPTEMBER 9 & 10, 2017
Throughout the day: antique vehicles and equipment, textile arts,  tours of museum, wood stove cooking, horse drawn wagon rides, demonstrations, kids zone, barn exhibit, market, animals, skills    competition, and much more! 
10:00 a.m.: Gates Open and Barbeque Lunch available for purchase including beans
11:00 a.m.: Threshing
11:30 a.m.:  Skills Competitions
12:00  - 4:00 p.m.: Musical Entertainment Saturday Back Pages and Sunday Pierce Family Band
1:30 p.m.: Skills Competitions
2:00 p.m. Threshing
3:45 p.m.: Children’s Candy Scramble
5:00 p.m.: Saturday Potluck Dinner for Volunteers , Vendors and Exhibitors (donation/person)

Admission $8/person, children 12 and under free.  No ATM on site.  Cash preferred although credit card accepted.  
Food available for purchase, museum gift shop, raffle tickets, carnival games and yard sale items on site in addition to admission.

You can still pre-register your farm equipment at 519-762-3072 or register when you arrive.  All equipment must be in place before 9:30am please.

New to the Heritage Farm Show this year (September 10-11)

Cider Pressing, Old Fashioned Carnival Games, Sauerkraut Demonstration, and a Chicken Show!

We also have space for yard sales/flea markets set up.  $25 for a spot.  The museum will have some treasures to sell such as cornflower crystal, VHS movies, eight tracks, Quilting Books, office and craft supplies, home decor and more.

Don't forget to get your registrations in for tractors, small engines, and equipment.  Colouring pages, pies, minced meat, and other submissions must arrive by 5pm on Friday September 9.  All forms can be found on our website www.backuspagehouse.ca under the Heritage Farm Show event picture.

Register Your Equipment for the Heritage Farm Show

On September 15 and 16, 2012 the grounds of the Backus-Page House Museum will once again be filled with pieces of our agricultural past.  We invite you to bring your antique equipment, tractors, and displays, but make sure to register first so we can give you the space you need to showcase your treasures.
