New Summer Hours!!

We have been encouraged by the numbers of visitors pre-booking and dropping by for museum tours since reopening on June 27.  The Board of Directors and Staff have agreed to be open 5 afternoons a week for the rest of July and August.

You can visit Backus-Page House Museum from Noon-4pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday for a tour.  Admission is $5/person.  Contactless payment using Debit or Credit Card is preferred and available for your convenience.  Pre-book your tours HERE or call 519-762-3072

Please stop into our washrooms to wash your hands before coming into the office to check in for your tour.  You will be asked for some information for contact tracing and visitor research purposes and then given instructions for using a tablet as an audio tour guide.  We hope next season we can safely go back to our personalized guided tours.

Volunteer Week April 19 - 25, 2020

Backus-Page House Museum would just be empty buildings without our volunteers.  Each person who has contributed since 1993 towards what we have now has a superpower.  The power to give of their time, talents and treasures.  The power to get a task completed, to come up with a new idea or overhaul an old one, to invite and make welcome new volunteers, and make working together a pleasure.  Together our volunteers make an 1850s house museum a home away from home.  I hope we can see each other in person soon.

Museum Closed and Events Cancelled Until April 5, 2020

Good evening everyone,

The health and safety of our visitors, volunteers, and staff is of the utmost importance to us.  This means Backus-Page House Museum’s breakfast and ground breakingon Sunday are cancelled and will be rescheduled later in the season.  All board and committee meetings, appointments, rentals, etc are cancelled.  Some work will be done via email or conference call but I will contact those involved over the next 24 hours.

Anything planned past April 5, 2020 we will revisit at that time.  Everyone stay healthy and we hope to see you all at the museum when it is safe to do so.
