Nut Cake
2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
2 cups flour
One cup cold water
4 eggs
1 tsp soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 cups nuts
Two cups sugar, one cup butter, three cups flour, one cup
cold water, four eggs, one teaspoon soda, two teaspoons cream tartar, two
cupfuls kernels hickory nuts, carefully picked out and added last of all
